Our Founder

Lesli-Ann Belnavis Elliott, MS, ATR

Lesli-Ann is a Registered Art Therapist and Photographer based in and practicing in Jamaica for over 15 years.

She started Art Therapy Jamaica in 2018 based on her passion and belief that art therapy is a powerful tool that is needed to help persons address and communicate difficult emotions in a safe way. 

She holds a Master of Science degree in Art Therapy from Florida State University. Throughout 

her career as an Art Therapist, she has provided meaningful interventions to individuals, groups and families in local and international settings that range from being project-funded, in private practice and via Telehealth services.

She was the founder and former President of the Caribbean Art Therapy Association (2011 - 2018). She has co-authored a book chapter with Trinidad and Tobagan Art Therapist - Sarah Soo Hon entitled "Art Therapy in the Caribbean" for the Wiley Handbook of Art Therapy. Additionally, she co-authored a book with Dr. Claudia Williams, LCSW, entitled "Art: A Healing Tool for Children II" in 2012.
